Curtis Profile
1987-1989
Whilst studying A-levels including PE, and
after passing basic qualifications I began work for Southampton City
Council at a number of its leisure venues and began teaching Circuit
Training. At this time I had been practicing Karate for around 10 years
and had reached 1st Dan Black belt standard. During this time I personally
began resistance training following a body-building/ power-lifting routine.
1989-2001
Throughout this time I worked at the Fareham Leisure Centre, starting
as a Senior Recreation Assistant, and gaining promotion leaving as the
Health & Fitness Business Development Manager. I implemented and operated
the Circuit Training classes to this venue, and continued to teach sometimes
everyday of the week for over 10 years. In 2000 under my Management,
the Body Matters Health & Fitness Suite / Fareham Leisure Centre was
voted 'runner-up' in the industries FLAME award for excellence. This
was fantastic recognition of the hard work myself and Team had put into
setting up the facility from scratch, and proved that we could provide
a service within a local government site that could compete with the
private sector. In 2001 I was personally awarded a certificate of achievement
for my entry into the FLAME fitness Manager of the year.
2001-Present
I now teach both groups (Circuit Training & Boxercise) and individuals
(Personal Training) throughout the week at various venues. Since setting
up my company I have had the privilege of conducting training sessions
for Weymouth Football Club, have secured personal training clients including
a multimillionaire, and taught various forms of exercise and self-defence
to students at a number of various schools. In addition I feel very
honoured that many of the clients that I have taught at the various
previous venues have stuck by me, and entrusted me to operate their
chosen exercise regime. Some of my members have been training with me
for over 10 years-and obviously still enjoying the benefits of regular
exercise.
My adidas speed training qualification has allowed me to train a number
of athletes and teams, both amateur, professional and celebrity including-
Curdridge FC Amateur
Weymouth FC - Dr Martins League (Link to www.theterras.co.uk)
Individuals from Portsmouth FC
Individuals from Portsmouth Basketball Club
Fox - from TV's The Gladiators
